TOPICS INCLUDE:

This one‐day seminar was developed to educate and familiarize member associates who are new to the industry, serve in roles that would benefit from a basic understanding of the fastener manufacturing process, or work for an Associate Supplier and would benefit from understanding how their business contributes to the overall fastener manufacturing process. Participants should emerge from the course with a better sense of how all the disparate parts of the manufacturing process come together to create a finished fastener. The course will provide a high-level overview of the primary processes used in threaded fastener manufacturing and explore not only the processes themselves but also the machines utilized. Where applicable, the course will present different approaches to these processes and compare and contrast them. In addition to primary manufacturing processes such as cold heading and thread rolling, this course will examinesecondary and “outside” processes such as machining, grinding, heat treating, and plating. The day will conclude with a look at cost drivers and how different processes affect the comparative cost of parts.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND:

This course is designed to be a high-level overview and geared towards individuals that do not necessarily require an intimate knowledge of the manufacturing process but would benefit from understanding how all the pieces come together to produce a finished fastener.
