How to Read and Understand Fastener Prints
Tuesday, October 28, 2025 (9:00 AM - 4:00 PM) (EDT)
Description
Have you ever looked at a customer print and grimaced because it looks like hieroglyphics? With so many different customer conventions, it is sometimes difficult to understand what the customer is trying to communicate. Although this one-day session is unlikely to explain everything a customer puts on a print, engineering drawings are never intended to be “open for interpretation”. In this session we examine how drawing, dimensioning and tolerancing conventions get employed on fastener drawings. Along with classroom learning, students participate in multiple exercises and gain real-life examples of actual fastener prints. TOPICS INCLUDE • Examining different views which are used to describe fastener parts, going in-depth to understand orthographic projection, section views and details. • Identifying different line types and what they communicate. • Studying size dimensioning and tolerancing practice, notes and note blocks, special symbols and revision practices. Note: geometric dimensioning and tolerancing practice will only be introduced. WHO SHOULD ATTEND This class is excellent for those in quoting, engineering, quality, and sales role or anyone that wants to become more proficient in fastener technology. • Quoting • Engineering • Business Development • Inside Sales • Outside Sales • Customer Service • Quality Assurance/Control • Any role that interacts with customers could benefit from this trainingAdditional Info
