Industrial standards underpin the technical competency and commercial success of any company in the business of manufacturing, supplying and testing fasteners.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND: Anyone in QA, Engineering, Sales, and Management who wants to learn about and have a say on what goes into the fastener standards they use every day. IFI Standards Camp is a MUST for all stakeholders in the fastener industry COST:  IFI Members: Free Non-Members: $140

DESCRIPTION:

IFI Standards Camp is an introduction to Consensus Standards Development. Campers will take part in simulations, role-playing, arguing for or against a proposal, and exercises designed to resolve opposing views and to reach consensus. Case studies demonstrate how standards are developed under the rules that govern the operation of technical committees.

IFI Standards Camp reveals the real, often tedious process of developing the state of the art consensus fastener standards we use every day.

LONG TERM OBJECTIVES:

• Increase stakeholder participation in ASTM, ASME, SAE, and ISO technical committees.
• Launch the Joe Greenslade Scholarship – funding toward a one-year internship in standards development, awarded to two selected Emerging Fastener Professionals (EFP) each year.
