COURSE DESCRIPTION: 

Deep Dive into Mechanical and Property Standards -

This one-day class is a spinoff of the Fundamentals of Metallurgy and Heat treatment of fasteners class. Having taken that class is not prerequisite to this one and individuals that have taken that class should find this one a good addition to what they already learned. This class will review some basic metallurgical principles as they are applied in fastener material and performance specifications like SAE J429 and ISO 898/1. In this class we will take a deep dive into a material and performance specification to learn about the nuances of making smart material choices, how to achieve different bolt strengths, how and when to test bolts and a myriad of other important concepts and details embodied in these standards. Come and join us to learn how to properly use these important standards.
